Ms. Pooja Bahry, an alumni of SRCC (Shri Ram College of Commerce), Delhi University and a Gold Medalist, is a distinguished Insolvency Professional with over 23 years of experience in Stressed Asset Resolution, Corporate Restructuring, and Regulatory Policy Development. As the third woman in India to be licensed under the Insolvency & Bankruptcy Code (IBC) in early 2017, she has successfully handled many landmark cases under IBC and is well known as s Financial Sector Reform Expert and an Institutional Capacity Builder and is a leading voice in insolvency education and thought leadership. Her Core competencies are Institutional capacity building & insolvency policy, Governance, ethics, and professional independence.
Her integrity, diligence, and adherence to high ethical standards are well-recognized in the financial sectors. She possesses extensive knowledge of laws related to NPA resolution, insolvency, and liquidation, and has demonstrated proficiency in managing ongoing business operations, ensuring resolutions, revival, asset sales, and auctions.
Beyond her professional practice, Ms Bahry contributes to the academic and professional community and is a sought-after educator and speaker, serving as faculty for the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI), various Insolvency Professional Agencies (IPAs), the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), taxation authorities, law universities, banks, and financial institutions. Various landmark jurisprudence have been formed in cases being handled by her under IBC, especially with reference to contributions received under Preferential Transactions, regarding Fraudulent transactions, regarding applicability of Capital Gain Tax during Liquidation etc. She is registered with IICA (Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs, Ministry of Corporate Affairs) as an Independent Director and also as a IICA Certified Mediator.
