The new bench of the NCLAT aims to unclog pending cases at NCLAT, Delhi which shall continue to function as the Principal Bench and will continue to hear appeals other than those within the jurisdiction of the new NCLAT bench at Chennai.

All appeals falling under the jurisdiction of the new bench of the NCLAT at Chennai and currently pending before the NCLAT, Delhi shall be transferred to the Chennai bench. The Central Government may also consider establishing similar benches of the NCLAT in the Western and Eastern parts of India.
